da Shop Turns 4!

da Shop Turns 4!

We look back at some highlights of year 3...

We welcomed authors, illustrators, storytellers from near and far into our bookstore. Autographed copies of their books can be found around the shop. Follow our social feed to see who's been popping into da Shop!
Last November, our Free Little Diverse Library (FLDL) got painted by the incredibly talented illustrator, Kate Wadsworth.

Next time you stop by da Shop, make sure to take a look at Kate's beautiful painting. And maybe take a book or add a book to the free community resource.
We're continuing to add to our blog with Q&As from authors, like Sara AckermanJulie Abery, & Michelle Sterling. Read about their work, inspiration, and what they're reading.  You can find author Q&As and more at our da Shop blog.
Notice our space looking a bit... different?

We had a mini-renovation this year to increase browsing areas, upgrade our checkout, and enhance the events space.

Come celebrate da Shop's birthday sale and see how the new space flows for better browsing.
New book club alert!  The Sunrise Book Club is hosted by Grace Lee of Hawaii News Now's morning show, Sunrise.  Each month, Grace picks 2 books to feature and the audience gets to vote for their favorite title!
We hosted free, virtual authors talks to celebrate some new releases by local authors, Sara Ackerman & Jeff Higa.

Missed the discussions? You can always catch up on past virtual author talks here.
We continued great opportunities for book lovers in our community through the Civil Beat Book Club and our monthly reading features on Honolulu Magazine.  And we brought back our popular book bundles for Halloween!
This year for Small Business Saturday & Keep it Kaimukī, we got to celebrate with you in person!  We welcomed artisans, like Beachcake & Mamanu, and the popular Waikiki Curry Truck.  Author Scott Kikkawa joined us to aotograph his new release, Red Dirt, and we all realized...

How good it felt to gather and shop and talk about books again.
Oh, what a year it has been at da Shop.  We continue to be so grateful for your dedication and support of our community bookstore.
